The Next Vacation?

Driving around Pittsburgh I kept seeing these sticker on cars that said OBX. Finally one of them was kind enough to include the subtitle, "Outer Banks, NC", and the OBX suddenly made sense. Since then I've heard some really good things about this place. Apparently you can rent huge beach houses (not necessarily ON the beach in our price range) that could sleep all 3 families. And apparently there are quite a few activities in addition to the very nice looking beach. I'm just throwing it out there. For a place that may be fun, driveable, relatively affordable, and perhaps able to be done with kids, it may meet a bunch of criteria for our 3 year "half-vacation" before our next big one in 2012. Check it out.

Part of me hates the idea, since it will never match up to Hawaii, then I remember how poor I am, and realize that it is an Awesome idea. thanks chad, you have my vote.

So this is really Rob too lazy to log in correctly. NC is georgeous, I've heard good things about the outer banks and the price sounds right. Make it 3 votes for the half-way vacation in OBX.

I thought OBX stood for "OBnoXious." I always wondered why someone would brand themselves as such and figured someone else had put these stickers on the car with super glue as some sort of tame revenge. Every morning, I've held my breath as I've headed out to my car, expecting a OBX sticker to suddenly grace my bumper.

Outer Banx. Let's do it.

I thought OBX stood for oily buffalo x-rays. This is so disappointing.
